Hello everyone! Fede here again! Today, I want to take you through my journey—how I transitioned from a career in tourism to pursuing a career in marketing. It’s been a path filled with challenges, growth, and plenty of learning.
Back in 2010, I graduated with a degree in Tourism in Argentina. Like many fresh graduates, I went on a job hunt, armed with my resume and big dreams. After much persistence, I landed my first role with one of the top tour operators in Argentina. It was here that I built the foundation of my professional skills—customer service, sales, and managing documentation. These skills have stayed with me and continue to shape who I am today.
Then came 2020—a year none of us will forget. The tourism industry was hit hard by COVID-19, and like thousands of others, I faced uncertainty about the future. That’s when I decided to explore new paths and realized that Canada could offer me an exciting opportunity to grow both personally and professionally.
After countless hours of research on work and study permits, colleges or universities, and programs, I chose to study Marketing Management at the University of Winnipeg. This two-year program transformed my perspective, forming my knowledge of marketing trends, customer behaviour, analytics, and the art of storytelling. It’s been quite a journey of learning and adapting, and I’m grateful for every moment.
Now, two years after arriving in Canada, I’m here—proud of the path I’ve walked, the stress I’ve overcome, the friendships I’ve built, and the person I’ve become.
How about you? Do you have a journey or proud moment you’d like to share? Drop a comment below—I’d love to hear it!
As they say in The Truman Show: Good afternoon, good evening, and good night!
Cheers,
Fede
